[Original form] Perennial herb. The rhizome is long, with dense clusters of persistent petioles on the upper part. Leaves are numerous, all basal, bi-triploate, and glabrous; leaflets are deeply lobed, with lobes obovate; petiole 2.5-11 cm long, peduncle 3-18 cm high; bracts 2, lanceolate, 0.3-3.3 cm below the flower; flower single, terminal, 2.8-5 cm in diameter; sepals 5, violet or lavender, obovate, 1.4-2.5 cm long; petals 5, yellow, narrowly obovate, about 5 mm long; stamens numerous; staminodes absent; carpels 5-7. The follicles are erect, 0.9 to 1.2 cm long, with reticulate veins.

[Habitat distribution] It mostly grows on rocky slopes or cliffs in high mountains. Distributed in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai, Gansu and other places.
