[Original form] Hemp is a woody herb with a height of 1.5m. Young branches covered with yellow-brown stellate hairs. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 1-3cm long; leaves are ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 4-8cm long, 2-4cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, rounded at the base, with sparse stellate hairs on the upper side, densely covered with stellate thick hairs on the lower side, and irregular serrations on the edges; there are 3-5 basal veins, and the lateral veins go upward beyond the middle of the leaf blade. Cymes are 1 to several axillary, with stalks about 3mm long; pedicels are 1.5mm long; sepals are narrowly oblong, 7mm long, and pubescent; petals are slightly shorter than sepals, oblong, with short stalks at the base, and stalks with eyelashes; stamens are 8-10 or slightly more; ovary has prickles, 4 chambers, and stigma is 3-5 lobed. The capsule is spherical, with thorns 5-7mm long, curved, covered with soft hairs, split into 4 parts, and each room contains 2 seeds. The flowering period is between summer and autumn.
