【Original morphology】 The plant is 1-1.5m tall. The rhizome is erect, with densely yellow-brown, linear scales at the top and base of the petiole, about 1 cm long, with black edges and slightly spreading. The petiole is 30-60cm long, about 5mm thick, erect, hard, straw-colored, with longitudinal grooves on it; the leaf blade is papery, glabrous, triangular, acuminate and pinnate at the apex, 70-100cm long, about 80cm wide at the base, and bipinnate; the pinnae are about 8 pairs, alternate, obliquely upward, 8-10cm apart, the petiole is 4-5cm long, the base pair is the largest, oblong-lanceolate, up to 40cm long, 20-25cm wide, and acuminate at the apex; the pinnules are 10-20 pairs, alternate, the petiole is 2-4mm long, lanceolate, up to 10cm long, about 2cm wide, acuminate at the apex, nearly truncate at the base, with crenate edges or pinnates up to 1/3-1/2, the lobes are oblong, obliquely upward, the apex is rounded or obtuse or truncate, and slightly serrulate; each lobe has 4-5 pairs of small veins, pinnate, simple. The sori are linear, dorsally borne below the middle of the veinlet, those on the upper side of the base are twin, the rest are single; the sori cap is linear, membranous, brown, and persistent.
