【Other name】 Ganoderma lucidum

[Source] The whole herb of the Poaceae plant , Mesona affine . Harvested in summer and autumn.

[Original form] Perennial herb. Root-like. The culms are clustered, erect, slender, smooth and hairless, with a slightly inclined base, about 45 cm high, with 3 to 4 nodes, and the terminal node is located below the middle of the culm. Leaves are alternate; linear, involute, 9-11 cm long, with acuminate tips; upper leaf sheaths nearly glabrous, shorter than internodes; ligule truncate. The spike inflorescence grows naked above the apical leaf sheath, drooping, 6 to 40 cm long, containing 5 to 11 spikelets; the spikelets are yellow-green with purple, with 3 to 4 florets; the first glume is oblong-lanceolate, and the second glume extends into a short awn; the lemma is oblong-lanceolate, the palea is equal in length to the lemma, and the tip is flat. The caryopsis is about 5 mm long. Fruiting period is September.

[Habitat distribution] Growing in hillside grasslands. Distributed in Shaanxi, Guizhou and other places.

【Functions and indications】 Clears heat, cools blood and relieves pain.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat cough with blood in sputum: 50 cents to 1 ounce of thatch arrow. Take it as a decoction.
