When it comes to antibiotics, everyone is familiar with them, but when it comes to amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium chewable tablets, many people don’t know what this medicine is. It is actually an antibacterial drug, composed of two ingredients, amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium. Everyone knows that amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, so what is the role of adding clavulanate potassium? It is to make the antibacterial spectrum wider, so that it can inhibit some viruses. With the development of society, viruses are constantly updating and replacing. The old antibiotics used in the past can no longer achieve good results. Only continuous research and innovation can cope with the updates of viruses. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium chewable tablets were born for this reason. The adverse reactions are described below. 1. This product is generally well tolerated, and most of the side effects observed clinically are mild and short-lived. Less than 3% of patients discontinued treatment due to drug-related adverse events. The main adverse reactions reported were diarrhea or loose stools (9%), nausea (3%), hives and urticaria (3%), vomiting (1%), and vaginitis (1%). The occurrence of adverse reactions, especially diarrhea, is related to the larger dosage of the drug. Other rare side effects include abdominal discomfort, bloating, and headache. 2. The following side effects have been reported with amoxicillin antibiotics: (1) Gastrointestinal: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, gastritis, stomatitis, glossitis, black tongue coating, mucosal candidiasis, colitis and pseudomembranous colitis causing bleeding. Symptoms of pseudomembranous colitis may develop during or after antibiotic treatment. (2) Liver: Patients treated with amoxicillin antibiotics have slight elevations in AST (SGOT) and/or ALT (SGPT), but the significance of these results is not yet clear. Impaired liver function has been reported occasionally in patients taking Enmetin, including elevated AST and/or ALT, and elevated blood bilirubin and/or alkaline phosphatase. Such reports were more common in elderly patients, male patients, or patients receiving long-term treatment. Signs or symptoms of liver damage may occur during treatment or within a few weeks after stopping treatment. Severe liver damage is usually reversible. Deaths have been reported very rarely and are usually related to serious underlying illness or concomitant treatment. (3) Kidney: Rare interstitial nephritis and hemorrhage The above introduces the adverse reactions of Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium Chewable Tablets, which will help you avoid excessive worries if you feel uncomfortable after taking the medicine. Of course, don't refuse to use the drug just because amoxicillin clavulanate potassium chewable tablets have adverse reactions. All medicines have side effects, so don't worry too much. These side effects are normal. It is obviously unrealistic to think that you will not get sick if you don't take medicine. You can enhance your own immunity through diet and exercise adjustments, get sick less often, and take less medicine. |
