[Original form] Vitis pubescens is a woody vine, up to 8m long. Young branches, petioles and inflorescence axes are densely covered with white or brown spider-like hairs, while old branches are purple-red. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 3-7cm long; leaf blade is ovate or pentagonal-ovate, undivided or with inconspicuous 3-5-angle edges or even 3-5 fissures, 8-15cm long, 6-10cm wide, with acute apex, nearly truncate or shallowly cordate base, with wavy teeth on the edge, green above, initially covered with soft hairs, then becoming glabrous, and densely covered with grayish white or grayish brown hairs below. Flowers are heterogamous, with panicles 8-11cm long, rarely up to 16cm, opposite leaves, with nearly spreading branches; flowers are small, light yellow-green, with fine pedicels, and glabrous; calyx is not obvious; petals are 5, about 1.8mm long, glued together into a cap at the tip and fall off; stamens are 5-6, opposite petals; ovary is buried in the disk. The berries are spherical, dark purple when ripe, and 6-8mm in diameter. The seeds are triangular, about 4mm long, flat on the back and with two angular edges on the abdomen. The flowering period is from May to June, and the fruiting period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside thickets and forest edges at an altitude of 600-1500m.
