【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, neutral.

【Functions and indications】Dispel wind, promote diuresis, promote qi circulation and activate blood circulation. Treat rheumatic joint pain, difficulty urinating, gastrointestinal bloating, hernia, amenorrhea, and trauma.

[Usage and Dosage] For internal use: decoct in water, 3 to 5 qian; grind into juice or soak in wine. For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat joint pain, old injuries, and amenorrhea: 50 cents of Tripterygium wilfordii or rattan stems. Decoction in water or with rice wine.

[Clinical Application] Treatment of functional uterine bleeding and excessive leucorrhea: Take 4 liang each of Akebia root (fresh) and Paulownia root (the root of Paulownia tomentosa or Paulownia tomentosa of the Scrophulariaceae family), wash and chop, and simmer with half a pound of fatty pork until it is well-cooked. Then eat the meat and drink the soup, taking it 4 times over 2 days. Avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and salty foods while taking the medicine. You can add an appropriate amount of sugar for seasoning. 9 cases of functional uterine bleeding and 133 cases of excessive leucorrhea were treated, and all of them showed efficacy after taking 2 to 4 doses.
