The plant of golden lotus is tall, with leaves that are golden yellow on both sides and gray-green or blue-gray in the middle. It can be up to 1.7 meters long and 20 centimeters wide, and the base is arranged in a rosette shape. The leaf margin spines are brown at first, then turn grayish white, and the distal spines can be up to 3 cm long. The pedicels emerge from the center of the rosette and the flowers are yellow-green. Golden Lotus prefers a warm, well-lit environment and grows in a temperature range of 15 to 25°C. It is extremely drought-tolerant and requires loose, permeable soil.

Effects and functions:

Moistens the lungs and relieves cough; cools blood and stops bleeding; clears away heat and detoxifies. It is mainly used to treat dry cough, hemoptysis, asthma, carbuncle, measles, and burns.

Usage: For external use, mash and apply. For internal use: decoction, 10-15 grams. 30~60g fresh product; or squeeze into juice.

How to cook golden lotus and pork bones

1. Prepare fan bones, fresh golden lotus and salt.

2. Prepare fresh golden lotus.

3. Just put a handful, estimated to be around 30 to 50 grams.

4. Soak in clean water to easily wash away the mud and sand. Wash.

5. Put enough water in the casserole and boil the fan bones for 1 hour. When the flavor comes out, turn off the high heat and then simmer over low heat.

6. Then put the washed golden lotus into the pork bone soup that has been simmering for more than an hour and continue to simmer.

7. Cook for about 20 minutes and add appropriate amount of salt for seasoning.

8. Cook the golden lotus and pork bone soup.

9. Golden lotus and pork bone soup moistens the lungs and eliminates phlegm.
