The flowers are solitary in the leaf axils, purple-brown; the calyx is bell-shaped, 3.5 cm long, with 5 irregular shallow teeth on the edge of the tip, 10 obvious veins, and swells after fruiting; the corolla is bell-shaped, slightly longer than the calyx, covered with white short soft hairs, 3 to 3.5 cm in diameter, with 5 shallow lobes at the tip, curled; 5 stamens, attached to the base of the corolla; 1 pistil. The capsule is spherical, cracked in the middle, about 1.5 to 3 cm in diameter, and enclosed in a persistent woody calyx. The seeds are round, slightly flat, and brown.

[Habitat distribution] Grown on roadsides, ditches and under forests. Distributed in Qinghai and Gansu. Sichuan and Tibet.

[Properties] ① The dry roots are cylindrical or conical, with a thick and short rhizome at the top and longitudinal grooves.
