[Source] Medicinal material source: The leaves of Viburnum luteum, a plant of the Caprifoliaceae family.

[Original form] Pale yellow Viburnum evergreen shrub, up to 8m tall. Leaves opposite; petiole 1-2cm long; leaf blade sub-leathery; leaves ovate, broadly elliptic to oblong, 6-12cm long, 2.5-6cm wide, apex short and acuminate, base oblique and more or less decurrent, margin with coarse obtuse serrations except base, lateral veins 5-6 pairs, raised below together with midrib. The cyme is in the form of a compound umbel, 4-7cm in diameter, covered with stellate hairs; with a peduncle, and the calyx rim has 5 micro-teeth; the corolla is white, radial, about 5mm in diameter, with broadly ovate lobes, about the same length as the corolla tube; there are 5 stamens, slightly higher than the corolla. The drupe is broadly oval, 6-8mm long, 3-4mm in diameter, first red and then black; the core is flat, with 2 dorsal and 1 ventral grooves. The flowering period is from February to April, and the fruiting period is from October to December.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in valley forests, beside trees or in thickets at an altitude of 180-1000m.

【Functions and indications】Promote blood circulation and remove dampness. Mainly used for swelling and pain caused by falls; rheumatic pain

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 3-9g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
