The fruit is enclosed in the calyx tube and fused with it, with 1 chamber, the calyx tube is longer than the lobes; there is 1 seed, which germinates before the fruit leaves the mother tree, and the hypocotyl is spindle-shaped, slightly angular, and 15-25cm long. [Chemical composition] Bruguiera gymnorrhiza bark contains a large amount of tannin, holocellulose and klason lignin, with contents of 35.5% and 14.1% respectively. It also contains rhamnose, arabinose, glucose, galactose, xylose, mannose, and galacturonic acid.
