[Original form] Perennial herb, 20 to 50 cm high. The roots are slender and the fibrous roots are yellowish white. The stem is erect or spreading, quadrangular, dark green, with significantly swollen nodes. The leaves are opposite, papery, with short petioles, elliptical or ovate-lanceolate, 3-7 cm long, 0.8-1.5 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, gradually narrowed at the base, and entire.
