【Alias】 Yellow Crown Chrysanthemum

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Glehnia littoralis, a plant of the Asteraceae family.

[Original form] Yellow cherry chrysanthemum is a perennial stemless herb. The rhizome is thick, up to 2.5 cm in diameter, with a fibrous residual petiole at the neck. The leaves are rosette-shaped and spread out; the petiole is about 10 cm long, flat and grooved, densely covered with white spider-like hairs; the leaves are leathery; the leaf blades are oblong-lanceolate, 20-30 cm long, 5-8 cm wide, deeply pinnate-lobed, with irregular small lobes on the edges of the lobes, glabrous on the upper side, densely covered with grayish-white spider-like hairs on the lower side, with obvious veins and hard thorns on the edges. The number of capitula ranges from several to more than ten, densely packed into a nearly spherical shape, with a diameter of 5-12cm. The peduncle is thick, 5-6cm long, with 1-2 linear bracts; the involucre is broadly bell-shaped, up to 6cm wide; the involucral bracts are in several layers, arranged in a shingle-like manner, linear-lanceolate, with a pointed tip, straw yellow when dry, and the outer layer spreading and curving downward; the flowers are yellow, the corolla is 3-4cm, with 5 shallow lobes at the tip, and the lobes are linear. Achenes are obovate, about 8mm long, flat, with inconspicuous veins; pappus is light yellow and bristle-like. Flowering and fruiting period is July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillsides and dry beaches at an altitude of 2900-4000m.
