[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Chrysanthemum morifolium of the Asteraceae family.

[Original form] Silky chrysanthemum is a perennial herb. Root long conical. The stem is erect and short, 15-30cm high. The leaves are lanceolate, up to 10 cm long and 2.5 cm wide in tall plants, but only 2 cm long and 2-3 mm wide in short plants. The leaf apex is acute, the base extends downward to form a petiole, and the margins are pinnately fissured or serrated. Inflorescence capitula, densely packed at stem end in cylindrical shape, usually with brown long soft hairs; bracts 9-14mm long, 2 outer bracts, linear, 4 inner bracts; all flowers ligulate, ligules yellow with black base, 5-toothed at tip, tube 3.5-6mm long. Achenes are oblong, with straw-yellow or nearly white pappus at the base, 11-2mm long. Flowering and fruiting period is July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on alpine grass chrysanthemums, gravel slopes, and shrub edges at an altitude of 3900-5500m.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; cools blood and stops bleeding. It is mainly used for colds and fever; sore throat; bronchitis; sores, boils, swelling and infection; mastitis; rheumatic pain; epistaxis; metrorrhagia; leucorrhea; traumatic injury
