[Source] Medicinal material source: the root or whole herb of the Campanulaceae plant Bluebell.

[Original form] Blue bell flower is a perennial herb, 10-30cm tall. The stem base is thick and woody, with persistent scales and a few fresh scales, which are oval and about 2 mm long. Stem ascending, lignified, unbranched or with numerous short branches, densely covered with grayish white hairs. Leaves are alternate or clustered on short branches, almost sessile; leaf blades are ovate-lanceolate, 0.5-1cm long, 1-3mm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, acute at the base, the widest part below the middle, with strongly curled edges, entire, and sparsely pubescent on both sides. Flowers are solitary on the main stem and branch tops, often leaning to one side of the stem in a racemose pattern, almost sessile; calyx is tubular, about 8mm long during the flowering period, and covered with hairs inside and outside; corolla is tubular-bell-shaped, 2.8-3.5cm long, blue or purple, glabrous on the outside, densely pubescent on the inside at the throat, and the lobes are obovate-oblong, 0.9-1.2cm long, with several bristles often clustered at the tip. Flowering period: August-September
