[Original form] 1. Delphinium yunnanensis, perennial herb. The stem is 60-100cm tall and densely covered with short, rough, recurved hairs. The leaves at the lower part of the stem have long petioles; the petioles are 2-3 times longer than the blades, with sheaths at the base; the blades are pentagonal, 4.5-6cm long, 7.5-11cm wide, 3 deeply lobed, the central deep lobe is rhombic, 3 shallowly lobed, the shallow lobes have notched lobes and teeth, the lateral deep lobes are obliquely fan-shaped, unequally deeply lobed, and both sides are covered with strigosus. The raceme is narrow and long, with many flowers; the bracts are leaf-like or linear-lanceolate, densely covered with rough hairs; the axis and pedicels are densely covered with white short rough hairs and yellow short glandular hairs; the pedicels are 1.2-3.5cm long; the bracteoles are born at the top of the pedicel or 2-6mm below the flowers, narrowly lanceolate, 5-10mm long; the flowers are bisexual and bilaterally symmetrical; there are 5 sepals, broadly elliptic. 1-1.2cm long, blue-purple, with short soft hairs on the outside, spur 1.6-2.1cm long, slightly curved downward at the end; 2 petals or yellow whiskers; stamens numerous, glabrous; 3 carpels, densely pubescent. The follicles are 1.6-2.4cm long. The seeds are obovoid, about 2 mm long, and densely covered with scaly wings. The flowering period is from July to November, and the fruiting period is from August to December.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Growing on grass slopes or sparse forests at an altitude of 2600-3600m.

[Properties] Identification of properties (1) The roots of the Yunnan Delphinium are mostly tubercular, some of which are swollen into dumbbell shapes at both ends, 1.5-5cm long and 4-12mm in diameter. The surface is gray-brown with longitudinal stripes. Some of the epidermis has fallen off, revealing brown fibers. There are many irregular protrusions and root fibrous marks. The top has residual petiole residues and a hollow stem base, and the lower part is clustered with root fibrous roots. It is tough, not easy to break, has a fibrous cross section and is yellow in color. It has a faint smell and tastes spicy and bitter.

[Chemical composition] The root of Yunnan Delphinium contains delsoline, yunadelphinine and two trace components to be determined.

【Functions and indications】Relieve rheumatism; relieve pain; calm the nerves. It is used to treat wind-cold-dampness arthralgia, stomachache, epilepsy, infantile convulsions, and traumatic injuries.
