[Original form] Senecio fujianensis is a perennial herb, 40-60cm tall. The stem is erect, often inflected, with spreading branches, glabrous or slightly hairy. Leaves are alternate; basal leaves wither during flowering; middle leaves are ovate-lanceolate, 5-12cm long, 1-4cm wide, sessile, with amplexicauls at the base, gradually pointed at the apex, shallowly serrated on the margin, with a present midrib, glabrous or pubescent on both sides; upper leaves are small, often nearly entire. Inflorescence capitula, arranged in sparse umbels at branch ends, with 2-5cm long long and linear bracts; involucre nearly bell-shaped, about 7mm long; 1 layer of involucral bracts, about 12, nearly glabrous, linear, pointed at apex, narrowly membranous margins; 6-7 ligulate flowers, yellow; many tubular flowers. Achenes are cylindrical, with longitudinal grooves, covered with short hairs, 3mm long; pappus is white, 4-5mm long.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on hillsides, fields, and sparse woods by water.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; slightly spicy; cool

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; dispels wind and relieves itching. Mainly used for carbuncle, sore, furuncle, eczema, scabies, and skin itching

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount, decoct in water for washing; or prepare into paste for application; or grind into powder and apply on the affected area.
