Many people choose to stew it with mung beans when eating bitter gourd, because the mung bean itself is used to remove fire and clear away heat. Many people will stock up some mung bean porridge in the summer, and bitter gourd also has a good effect in removing fire. So what are the effects and functions of bitter gourd?

Mung beans stewed with bitter gourd can reduce internal heat and remove toxins from the body.

The fruit of the bitter garlic is "Xiebai", also known as Xiegen, Xiezi, wild garlic, small single garlic, and Xiebaitou. It has the effects of clearing away heat, relieving summer heat, reducing dryness, stimulating appetite, strengthening the spleen, detoxifying and nourishing the skin. It is a good food for summer.

Meridians: Lung; Heart; Stomach; Large Intestine

Indications: chest pain, heart pain extending to the back; chest and abdominal distension; cough, asthma and excessive sputum; abdominal pain; heaviness after diarrhea; leucorrhea; sores, furuncles and carbuncles.

Nature and flavor: spicy; bitter; warm.

Mung bean is cool in nature and sweet in taste. It has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, quenching thirst and relieving heat, and is a diuretic and moisturizing skin. It also has a certain effect in removing lead poisoning. Mung bean powder contains a large amount of protein, B vitamins, and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, and iron, so it has the effects of whitening, fading spots, cleansing the skin, removing dead skin, and inhibiting acne.

Mung bean skin is the seed coat of mung bean, also known as mung bean shell and mung bean skin. It is sweet and cold in nature, non-toxic, and has the same functions as mung bean, but it is better than mung bean in cooling blood, clearing heat and detoxifying. It can also improve eyesight, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling.

1. Cholecystitis: Wash 100 grams of mung beans and put them into a fresh pig gallbladder. Tie the mouth with a thin string and hang it in a ventilated and cool place to dry. Take 15 to 20 mung beans each time. Take 2 to 3 times daily.

2. Heatstroke: Boil 120 grams of mung beans, mash them into a paste, add 30 grams of brown sugar, mix well and eat. Or drink mung bean soup.

3. Food poisoning: 30 grams of mung beans, 15 grams of licorice, 12 grams of salt (fried until charred), decoct in water, and drink slowly when it is slightly warm. Severe patients can take it orally.

4. Mumps: Use 60 grams of raw green beans, put them in a small pot and cook until they are almost cooked, then add 2 to 3 cabbage hearts and cook for about 20 minutes.

Take 1 to 2 times a day.

5. For dysentery in children: 3 mung beans, 3 white peppercorns, and 1 pitted jujube, mash them together and apply on the navel, seal with adhesive tape, and change it the next day. Or add 15 grams each of mung bean skin and white sugar, add water and boil together.

6. Chickenpox in children: 100 grams of mung beans, add 500 ml of water, boil into soup and drink instead of tea, add sugar when taking.

7. Blood in stool: 120g each of mung bean sprouts, brown sugar and white bark of Chinese toon root, add 800ml of water, boil into 150-200ml, take in the morning and evening, 1 dose per day.

8. Mastitis: Mix 30 grams each of mung bean starch and charcoal powder (human burnt ash) with water into a paste and apply to the affected area.

9. Acne: Boil mung bean powder in warm water into a paste, wash the affected area and apply it before going to bed every night.
