The spike inflorescence is terminal, 1 to 6 cm long; the flowers are extremely small, about 2 mm long, and light pink; the bracts are extremely small and fall off early; the sepals are 5, linear-subulate, fused at the base, and persistent; the petals are 3, fused at the bottom, and the lateral pair is shorter. The capsule is very small, about 2 mm long, with a row of curved, triangular short teeth on the edge. Seeds black, shiny. Flowering period is autumn.

[Habitat distribution] Growing in wilderness grassland. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and other places.
