[Original form] Sambara hemp tree, 10-20m high. Branchlets cylindrical, densely covered with light brown stellate pubescence. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 2-4 cm long and sparsely stellately pubescent. The leaves are nearly round, often palmately 3-5 shallowly lobed, 6-14cm long, 5-11cm wide, with short pointed or obtuse apex, rounded to nearly cordate base, sparsely serrated margin, sparsely stellate pubescent above, densely gray stellate pubescent beneath; 5-7 main veins. Flowers are terminal or axillary, arranged in panicles, with pedicels, bracteoles and calyx all covered with gray stellate short soft hairs; bracteoles are 4, rarely 6, oblong, about 4mm long; calyx is shallowly cup-shaped, connate below the middle, with 5 lobes, triangular, nearly equal in length to bracteoles; flowers are light pink, about 16mm in diameter, petals are obcordate, with glandular tassels at the ends. The capsule is spherical, about 5mm in diameter, with persistent bracts obovate-oblong, 1-1.5cm long, 5-9mm wide, and covered with stellate soft hairs on both sides. Seeds reniform, glabrous, with glandular veins. Flowering period is from September to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in sparse forests in valleys at an altitude of 500-1600m.

[Properties] Identification of properties: The leaves are mostly wrinkled, the complete leaves are nearly round, often palmately 3-5 shallowly lobed, 6-14cm long, 5-11cm wide, with short pointed or obtuse tip, rounded or nearly cordate base, sparsely serrated on the margin, sparsely stellate pubescent on the upper side, densely stellate pubescent on the lower side, with 5-7 main veins; the petiole is 2-4cm long, sparsely stellate pubescent.
