There are many precious medicinal materials in Yunnan. Because Yunnan is a region with dense forests, many medicines are suitable for growing in such an environment. For example, common medicinal materials include Panax notoginseng, Gastrodia elata, Dendrobium officinale and Angelica sinensis, as well as Tianshan Snow Lotus and ginseng. Yunnan's precious medicinal materials can be used to regulate the body and promote recovery. These ingredients are generally eaten after being dried. 1. Panax notoginseng Panax notoginseng is a perennial herb of the Araliaceae family. Li Shizhen called it "golden and priceless". Its stems, leaves and flowers can all be used as medicine. Panax notoginseng has the effects of "beating raw and supplementing cooked", that is, taking raw Panax notoginseng can promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, reduce swelling and relieve pain, and is effective in treating bruises and strains; taking cooked Panax notoginseng (frying raw Panax notoginseng in chicken oil or other oil until it turns yellow is cooked Panax notoginseng) can supplement blood and strengthen the body. Panax notoginseng is divided into two types, "spring Panax notoginseng" and "winter Panax notoginseng", which are distinguished by the harvesting season. The one harvested before seed formation is spring Panax notoginseng, and the one harvested after seed formation is winter Panax notoginseng. The quality of spring Panax notoginseng is the best, and it is best to choose those that are big, heavy, good in color, smooth, firm and not empty. Winter Panax notoginseng has more wrinkles and its quality is inferior. The main production areas of Yunnan Panax notoginseng are the counties of Wenshan Prefecture. The counties of Yanshan, Maguan, Xichou and other counties in the prefecture have a history of three to four hundred years in cultivating Panax notoginseng. 2. Gastrodia elata Gastrodia elata, also known as red arrow, dingfengcao, water potato, etc., is a precious medicinal material. In recent years, it has been used to treat hypertension, neurasthenia and other diseases. Yunnan is one of the main production areas of Gastrodia elata in my country. The production in Yunnan is concentrated in the Zhaotong area, especially in Yiliang and Zhenxiong counties in the area, which have the largest output and the best quality. The Gastrodia elata produced here are large, thick, yellow-white, translucent, and solid, and are the representative of Yunnan Gastrodia elata. 3. Dendrobium candidum Dendrobium officinale, a perennial epiphytic herb of the Orchidaceae family, is also known as black knot grass and Yunnan iron skin. Dendrobium officinale contains polysaccharides, bioalkalis, amino acids and other substances as well as a variety of trace elements, and is recognized as the most high-end health product. Wild "official skin" Dendrobium is a rare and endangered plant under the national key second-level protection. It is artificially bred in Dehong, Xishangbanna, Baoshan and other places in Yunnan. 4. Angelica Angelica sinensis belongs to the Umbelliferae family. It is a plant that has the functions of nourishing blood and regulating blood, moistening the intestines, removing blood stasis and promoting new blood, relieving pain and regulating menstruation. Guitou is used to stew chicken, meat, etc. It is a warm and tonic medicine that has the effect of tonifying the body and nourishing the blood. Angelica is mainly produced in the high and cold mountainous areas of Yunnan and is now mostly cultivated by workers. The best quality ones are dry, large and firm roots, with oily gas, fragrant taste and white flesh. 5. Bergenia Bergenia is the dried rhizome of the Bergenia plant of the Saxifragaceae family. It is also known as stupid cabbage, dwarf cabbage, rock wall cabbage, stone cabbage, red rock cabbage, and snow-head flowering cabbage. It has the effects of nourishing and strengthening, stopping bleeding and relieving cough, and was originally a folk medicine. Through pharmacological, pharmaceutical chemical research and clinical trials, it was found that its main ingredient, bergenin, has the effect of removing expectorant and relieving cough, and is effective in treating chronic bronchitis. There are 10 species of Bergenia in the world, and 7 of them are produced in my country. In Yunnan, it is mainly distributed in northwest Yunnan, central Yunnan, and northeast Yunnan. 6. Picrorhizoma Picrorhizon is the dried rhizome of the plant Picrorhizon of the Scrophulariaceae family. It is also known as Hulian, "Jia Huanglian" (Tibetan name), Tibetan Picrorhizon, and domestic Picrorhizon. It is a medicine for clearing heat and drying dampness. It is mainly distributed in Deqin, Zhongdian, Weixi and Gongshan in northwestern Yunnan. 7. Magnolia officinalis Magnolia officinalis is the dried branches, roots and bark of Magnolia officinalis, a plant of the genus Magnolia in the family Magnoliaceae. Because its main production areas are Tengchong, Gaoligong Mountain in Yunnan and the adjacent Myanmar border, it is also called Tengchong Magnolia officinalis, Gongshan Magnolia officinalis and Yunnan-Myanmar Magnolia officinalis. Magnolia officinalis is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine for treating common and frequently occurring diseases. It is mainly distributed in Tengchong, Lushui, Fugong, Gongshan, Deqin and other counties in the northwest of Yunnan and the western China-Myanmar border area. 8. Snow Lotus Snow lotus is called "Ganglamedo" or "Xiaguisuoba" in Tibetan. It belongs to the genus Saussurea of the Asteraceae family. It is 10-30 cm tall and is covered with densely interwoven long white cotton hairs, resembling a cotton ball. It can clear away heat and detoxify, relieve heat and pain, regulate menstruation and stop bleeding. In Zhongdian, Yunnan, there are cotton-headed snow lotus, jellyfish snow lotus and three-finger snow lotus. 9. White Snow Tea Baixue tea, also known as ground snow tea, is produced in the mountains of Yunnan. It is fragrant and sweet with a slight bitter taste. It contains many ingredients beneficial to the human body. It can lower blood lipids, lose weight, refresh the brain, clear away heat and relieve summer heat, promote body fluid production, moisten the lungs, and relieve cough. It has significant therapeutic effects on hypertension, neurasthenia, pharyngitis, etc. 10. Fritillaria Fritillaria is a perennial herb of the genus Fritillaria in the Liliaceae family, and is named because of its shape which resembles a cluster of clams. It is produced in large quantities in Shangri-La and is used to treat lung diseases such as pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis, dry cough and asthma, hemoptysis, etc. |
