【Original morphology】 Plant height 40-70cm. The rhizome is short and erect, densely covered with large dark brown, lanceolate, ciliate scales. Leaves are clustered; petiole 15-30cm long, straw color, densely covered with lanceolate scales at base, gradually sparse and narrowly linear upwards; leaf blade oblong-lanceolate, papery, 25-40cm long, 10-20cm wide, odd-pinnate; pinnae 3-5 pairs, lateral pinnae broad sickle-shaped triangle, terminal one usually larger, trident-shaped, 12-15cm long, 8-10cm wide, lateral pinnae short-tailed at tip, rounded base, triangular ear-like protrusions on upper or both sides, with regular fine thorn-like sharp teeth on edge; leaf veins reticulate, with 6-7 rows of mesh on each side of the midrib, containing 1-3 small veins. The sori are round, growing in the middle of the inner veins, usually covering the back of the leaves; the sori cover is brown with long eyelashes on the edges.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in the shade and moist places under forests at an altitude of 400-2900m.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; promotes blood circulation and relieves blood stasis; promotes diuresis and reduces swelling. It is mainly used for furuncle, carbuncle, scrofula, snake bite, metrorrhagia, edema, traumatic injury, ascariasis, prevention of influenza, and measles.
