The efficacy and function of Xiagangwa

As for Xiagangwa, I think some people may have heard of it or even taken it. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t heard of it. Next, I will introduce Xiagangwa to you.

【Other name】 Delphinium

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Delphinium datongense and Delphinium datongense, plants of the Ranunculaceae family.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The stem is about 30-40cm high, slightly densely covered with recurved and spreading white long hairs above the base, and usually branched. Basal leaves and leaves near the base have slightly long petioles; petioles 8-12cm long, covered with spreading soft hairs; leaf blades rounded pentagonal, 5-6.5cm wide, 3-parted near the base, central lobe cuneate rhombus, 3 deeply divided, twice-lobed with 1-2 narrowly ovate or linear-lanceolate lobes, lateral lobes fan-shaped, unequally deeply divided, deep lobes twice finely divided, sparsely covered with short procumbent hairs on the upper side, and a little soft hairs along the veins on the lower side. There are many compound racemes; axis has a little spreading soft hairs or is nearly glabrous; base bracts are leaf-shaped, upper bracts are linear or subulate; pedicels are 1.5-5cm long, pubescent or glabrous; bracteoles are morphological, 0.9-1.8cm long, dark blue or light blue, lobes are broadly obovate, nearly entire at the apex, or slightly concave, occasionally 2-lobed to the middle, with yellow beards above the base of the ventral surface; males are numerous, filaments are glabrous; carpels are 3, densely pubescent. The follicles are about 1 cm long. The seeds are tetrahedral, about 2 mm long, with narrow wings along the edges. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Grown in alpine grasslands at an altitude of 2500-4200m.

[Properties] Property identification: The stem is cylindrical, relatively thin and weak, with few branches, sparsely covered with soft hairs, brittle and hollow. The leaves are mostly wrinkled and broken. When wet and unfolded, the intact ones are heart-shaped pentagonal, three-partite, with all lobes split two to three times. The last lobe is linear-lanceolate and sparsely pubescent. The basal leaves and leaves near the base have long petioles. The flowers are blue to blue-purple, with dense soft hairs on the top of the pedicels. The calyx spur is subulate and longer than the sepals. It has a faint odor and a slightly sour and slightly bitter taste.
