[Original morphology] Perennial herb, up to 60-70 cm tall, the whole plant is sparsely covered with short hairs. Spreads by underground rhizomes. The stem is quadrilateral, slender, erect or oblique, and slightly branched. Simple leaves are opposite; elliptical or ovate-rectangular, leaf blades can be up to 3 to 10 cm long, with serrated edges, sparsely covered with short hairs on both sides, and the base is nearly heart-shaped or obtuse; sessile or nearly sessile. The spike inflorescence is terminal, with small flowers arranged in a wheel on the axial line, and the spike length can reach 5 to 10 meters; the calyx has 5 teeth and is covered with short hairs; the corolla is 4-lobed, white or light red; there are 4 stamens, and the filaments extend out of the corolla; the ovary is 4-lobed.
