[Original form] A thin-leaved shrub, 1-3m tall. Young branches are covered with inverted stiff hairs, old branches are glabrous. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 2-4mm long; leaf blade is oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 2-6cm long, 0.5-2cm wide, with pointed to acuminate tip, obtuse to gradually narrowed into a cuneate base, entire or pinnately lobed above the middle with 1-4 pairs of coarse teeth, dark green above, green-white below, sparsely pubescent on both sides, densely pubescent on veins, and eyelashes on edges. Flowers solitary in leaf axils on twigs; pedicels 5-10mm long, covered with stiff hairs; calyx tube cylindrical, sparsely covered with short stiff hairs, 4 calyx teeth, narrowly elliptic or obovate-oblong, about 1cm long; corolla white, light yellow or light red, narrowly funnel-shaped or high-footed saucer-shaped, covered with short soft hairs on the outside, 4-lobed, lobes round, about 2mm long, corolla tube about 5mm long, densely covered with stiff hairs on the inside; 4 stamens, didyna, enclosed, born in the middle of the corolla tube, anthers long oval; ovary 3-chambered, only 1 chamber developed, style about 1cm long, stigma capitate. Achene-like drupe, about 8 mm long, with stiff hairs, crowned with 4 persistent and slightly enlarged sepals. The seeds are cylindrical, membranous, 4-6 mm long, with fleshy endosperm. It blooms in early spring and fruits from August to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside thickets, under forests and along ditches at an altitude of 1200-2000m.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dampness; detoxify and reduce swelling. Mainly used for rheumatism, heat toxicity, carbuncle
