[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb with roots of the Umbelliferae plant.

[Original form] Perennial herb, about 90cm tall. The stem is branched and has longitudinal ridges. Leaves are alternate; petiolate, with leaf sheaths at the base embracing the stem; leaf blades are 8-13cm long, 4-8cm wide, pinnately divided, with 2-6 pairs of pinnae, lanceolate to oblong, 4-7cm long, 0.8-2cm wide, short-pointed at the apex, rounded cuneate at the base, with sharp serrations on the edges; the upper part of the stem has 1-2 pairs of pinnae, linear-lanceolate, with leaf sheaths. Compound umbels terminal and lateral; involucral bracts several, entire, reflexed; rays unequal in length; involucral bracteoles linear or lanceolate; flowers white, petals obovate; calyx teeth small. The fruit is oval, about 3mm long and 2mm wide, with obvious ridges; there are 3 oil tubes in each groove and 2-5 oil tubes on the commissure. Flowering period is July-August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in swamps, grass and beside ditches.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 3-9g.
