[Source] Locust Locusta migratoria L., Orthoptera, Acrididae, Insecta, the whole insect is used as medicine.

【Habitat distribution】 Occasionally found in North China.

【Nature and flavor】Salty, neutral.

【Functions and indications】Nourish and strengthen. It is mainly used to treat pulmonary tuberculosis and infantile malnutrition.

[Remarks] This is the most common locust in the Old World and a major historical pest. It generally has two distinct ecotypes: (1) gregarious locusts L. migratoria and L. Ph. gregaria. (2) solitary locusts L. migratoria and L. Ph. Solitaria.
