【Functions and indications】Tonify deficiency, regulate menstruation, eliminate rheumatism, and promote the circulation of blood stasis. It is used to treat cough due to deficiency, spermatorrhea, leukorrhea, metrorrhagia, leucorrhea, rheumatic paralysis, and bruises.

[Usage and Dosage] For internal use: fry the Yang, 3 to 6 coins; or stew with meat. For external use: grind into powder and apply on skin.

[Additional prescription] ① Treating cough due to deficiency: Rhizoma Palmatum, Phellodendron chinense bark, and Adenophora Root. Serve with stewed chicken.

[Clinical Application] Treatment of chronic bronchitis: Take the rhizome of Ganoderma lucidum and make it into honey pills or tablets for oral administration. Each honey pill weighs 3 qian (including 1.5 qian of honey), take 3 times a day, 1 to 2 pills each time; each tablet weighs 0.5 gram, take 3 times a day, 8 tablets each time. One course of treatment is 10 days. Among 351 cases observed, 120 cases (34.2%) were clinically controlled after one course of treatment; 165 cases (47%) were significantly effective, 58 cases (16.5%) were improved; and 9 cases (2.3%) were ineffective. It has good effects on relieving cough, eliminating phlegm and relieving asthma. Most patients experience significant improvement or disappearance of symptoms and signs after taking the medication for 4 to 8 days, and experience better sleep and increased appetite. A few people may experience mild dizziness or mild lower limb weakness 1 to 2 days after taking the medicine; those with gastric ulcers may experience mild pain after taking the medicine, which will not affect the treatment.
