【Original morphology】 Plant height 30-50cm. The rhizome is erect. Leaves are clustered; petiole 10-20cm long, scaled at base, sparsely scaled on upper rachis; leaf blade oblong to ovate-lanceolate, 20-30cm long, 9-14cm wide, acuminate at apex, slightly shortened at base, bipinnate; pinnae alternate, obliquely spreading, linear-lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 7-10cm long, 2-3cm wide, acuminate at apex into a tail-like shape; leaves are covered with soft thorns along the rachis and barbules, barbules are oblong-rhombic, 1.5-2cm long, about 5mm wide, obtuse at apex, deeply pinnate-lobed, with sparse serrations; leaf veins are pinnate, with forked veinlets. Sori oblong, slightly curved; sori cap membranous.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in the grass beside the ditch.

【Nature and flavor】 Slightly bitter; cool

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; astringes and stops bleeding. Mainly used for dysentery, carbuncle, and bleeding caused by trauma

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 10-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount, crush the fresh leaves and apply; or dry and grind them into powder and apply.
