[Source] It is the root or root bark of the Araliaceae plant. Dig it up between September and October and use it fresh, or peel off the root bark and dry it when it is fresh.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in bushes beside streams, at the foot of mountains, on roadsides and in hilly areas. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places.

[Chemical composition] The leaves contain taraxacinol and its acetate, β-sitosterol, tritane, tritane and tritanediol.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies, dispels wind and dampness, relaxes muscles and promotes blood circulation. Treat colds and high fever, coughing up blood, rheumatoid arthritis, jaundice, leucorrhea, urinary tract stones, bruises, boils and ulcers.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 0.5-1 liang; or soaked in wine. For external use: decoct in water for washing, grind into powder for application or mash for application.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat numbness of hands and feet in men and women, weakness of waist and knees, pain in tendons and bones, weakness of limbs, phlegm, fire and dampness: stir-fry black beans (soak in urine of children for nine times, steam thoroughly for better use), angelica sinensis, tangerine peel and acanthopanax peel in equal parts.
