[Original form] 1. Tiger grass, perennial herb, 15-65cm high. The rhizome is slightly oblique, with a diameter of 0.8-1.4cm and a brown-black outer skin. There are 3-5 basal leaves; petiole 5-22cm long, with white soft hairs and a short sheath at the base; leaf blade outline is kidney-shaped pentagonal, 2.5-7.5cm long, 4.5-14cm wide, 3-parted, the central lobe is broadly rhombic or rhombic-ovate, 2.2-7cm wide, 3-parted, with a few small lobes and teeth on the upper part of the deep lobe, and the lateral lobes are unequally 2-parted and deeply hairy on both sides. Scapes 1-3, cymes one to three times branched; bracts 3-4, whorled, petiolate, leaflike, but lobes narrower, one lobe ± fissured. Flowers are bisexual, 2-3cm in diameter; sepals are 7-8, petal-shaped, white, obovate or elliptical-obovate, 0.9-1.4cm long, 5-10mm wide, sparsely pubescent on the outside, densely pubescent at the tip; petals are absent; stamens are numerous, about half the length of sepals; carpels are 30-60, glabrous, and the style is fist-shaped.
