【English name】 SEMEN CROTONIS PULVERATUM

[Source] This product is a processed product of croton .

[Properties] This product is a light yellow powder with uniform particle size and loose texture.

[Identification] Take about 0.5g of this product, grind it, add 10ml of ether, soak it for 2 hours, and shake it from time to time. Filter it, put the filtrate in a test tube to evaporate, add 0.5ml of saturated methanol solution of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and 1 drop of thymolphthalein indicator solution, then add saturated methanol solution of potassium hydroxide until it turns blue, then add 4 more drops, heat to boiling, cool, add dilute hydrochloric acid to adjust the pH to 2-3, add 3 drops of ferric chloride test solution and 1ml of chloroform, shake, and the upper solution turns purple-red.

[Content Determination] Take about 5g of this product, weigh it accurately, put it in a Soxhlet extractor, add 100ml of ether, reflux extraction (6-8 hours) until the fatty oil is completely extracted, collect the extract, put it in an evaporating dish that has been dried to constant weight, evaporate it to dryness at low temperature in a water bath, dry it at 100℃ for 1 hour, cool it, weigh it accurately, and you have it.

[Processing] Take clean croton kernels and make frost according to the frost making method (Appendix Ⅱ D), or grind the kernels into powder and determine the fatty oil content according to the method under [Content Determination], add appropriate amount of starch to make the fatty oil content meet the requirements, mix well, and you have the product.
