[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting bodies of the fungi Sarcodon chinensis and Sarcodon scaly, both of which belong to the Odontaceae family.

[Original morphology] 1. The cap of the brown-capped carnosus mushroom is 4-15cm in diameter, flat, slightly concave in the middle, light yellow, flesh-colored to brown-yellow, smooth, and slightly sticky. The thorns are cone-shaped, thin, 1-2cm long, extended, milky white to khaki, with a central or lateral stipe, the same color as the cap, medium solid, 4-7cm long, and 2-3cm thick. The flesh is fleshy and creamy yellow. The spores are nearly spherical, with small warts on the wall, colorless and transparent or slightly yellow, and 5-8μm in diameter.

【Habitat distribution】Ecological environment: 1. Growing on the ground in mixed forests.

【Chemical composition】 Sarcodon scaly contains urea, ergosterol, fungisterol, mannitol, inositol, guanine, uric acid and polysaccharide.

[Pharmacological action] Sarcosporum flavescentis has anti-cancer effect; the fruiting body of Sarcosporum flavescentis has the effect of lowering cholesterol in animal blood.
