[Original form] Deciduous tree, up to 20m high. The bark is light brown and cracked in rectangular flakes: young branches are slightly square, densely covered with brown short soft hairs, old branches are brown and hairless. Winter buds are axillary, pointed conical, nearly 2mm long, and densely covered with brown short hairs. Leaves opposite; petiole slender, 1.2-1.5cm long, leaf blade papery, ovate-elliptical, 6-8cm long, 2.5-4cm wide, apex short and blunt, base rounded or broadly cuneate, sometimes slightly asymmetrical, margin slightly curled, green above, covered with white short soft hairs when young, nearly glabrous when old, light green below, covered with brown and grayish white short soft hairs, midrib concave above, convex below, lateral veins 4-5 pairs, arcuate and incurved, veinlets reticulate, all concave above, convex below. The corymbose inflorescence is terminal, 3.5cm wide, densely covered with grayish white and a few brown short soft hairs; the flowers are small, white, and 5.2mm in diameter; the calyx lobes are 4, irregularly toothed-lanceolate, 0.5-1.1mm long, longer than the disk, and covered with grayish white short soft hairs on the outside; the petals are 4, ligulate-lanceolate, 4.2mm long, 1.4mm wide, and acute at the apex; the stamens are 4, 4.2mm long, the filaments are slightly flat, thinner at the top, 3.1mm long, and the anthers are oblong-elliptic; the style is clavate, the ovary is inferior, the receptacle is elliptical-broad-ovate or nearly spherical, about 1mm in diameter, and densely covered with grayish white short soft hairs; the pedicel is slender cylindrical, 2.5-3.2mm long, and densely covered with brown and grayish white short soft hairs. The drupe is spherical, about 5mm in diameter, black when ripe; the core has no pits. The flowering period is May and the fruiting period is October.

[Habitat distribution] Distributed in Qianshan, Xiongyue and other places in Liaoning Province.
