[Original form] 1. Oleander: perennial herb, 10 to 40 cm high. It has a thick tuberous rhizome. Stem erect, glabrous. There are usually 2 stem leaves, with petioles 10 to 15 cm long, peltate, and leaves rectangular or nearly circular, 16 to 22 cm long, 12 to 19 cm wide, finely toothed, and with stripes when young. It blooms in summer, with purple-red flowers, clustered in 4 to 8 at the intersection of two stem petioles, drooping, with pedicels up to 2.8 cm long; 6 sepals, ovate or elliptic-rectangular; 6 petals, long obovate, with wrinkled wavy patterns at the tip; 6 stamens, anthers longer than filaments; pistil jar-shaped, stigma shield-shaped. The berries are nearly spherical and black.

[Cultivation] It likes a shady and humid environment and avoids strong light and drought. It is suitable to choose loose and fertile sandy loam or humus loam for cultivation.
