[Source] It is the whole herb with roots of the Polypodiaceae plant Pyrola . It can be harvested all year round.

[Original morphology] The plant is 25 to 60 cm tall. The rhizome is short and thick, oblique or horizontal, densely covered with scales; the scales are linear-lanceolate, brown, with irregular edges. Leaves are clustered; petioles are 5-9 cm long and hairy when young; leaf blades are lanceolate, 20-50 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, gradually narrowed at the base, and entire; leaves are thick leathery, light green, with black spots on the upper side, sometimes covered with a few stellate hairs that fall off, initially covered with white stellate hairs on the lower side, and finally completely hairless; lateral veins are slightly obvious. The sori are distributed above the middle of the leaf blade.

[Habitat distribution] Distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Guangxi, Guangdong and Hubei.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 liang.
