[Source] Medicinal material source: The root of the plant Citrus aurantium of the Apocynaceae family.

[Original form] A sturdy woody vine, about 6m long. The whole plant has latex; the stem bark is yellow-green; the twigs are small. Young leaves, petioles and inflorescences are densely covered with short hairs. Leaves are opposite; petiole is about 5mm long; leaf blade is nearly leathery, elliptic or oblong, elliptic-lanceolate, 7-15cm long, 4-5cm wide; apex is gradually pointed, base is cuneate or obtuse; leaf surface is glossy, midrib is obvious on the back of leaf, and covered with short soft hairs. Inflorescence terminal cymes, buds oblong, apex obtuse; flowers white; calyx lobes 5, oblong, apex acute; corolla lobes 5, oblong-lanceolate or long bayonet-shaped, usually shorter than the corolla tube, rarely equal in length; corona small, scale-like; stamens 5. Attached to the swollen part of the lower part of the corolla tube, anthers and filaments equal in length. Ovary 2-chambered, style short, stigma enlarged into a cylindrical shape. The berries are oval, pointed, up to 7 cm long and about 3 cm in diameter, and are orange-yellow or orange-red when ripe. Seeds numerous, oblong or flattened on both sides. The flowering period is from May to August, and the fruiting period is from July to December.
