Odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate; compound leaves are 13-30cm long; petiole is 5-9cm long, petiole and rachis are covered with spreading yellow soft hairs; leaflets are usually 7, petiolules are 2-5mm long, and the top petiolule is up to 3cm long; leaf blade is oblong to lanceolate, 7-15cm long, 2-5cm wide, apex is long acuminate to nearly caudate, base is cuneate, slightly oblique, entire, covered with long soft hairs on the lower side, especially on the veins; lateral veins are 8-9 pairs, slender, connected near the edge. The flowers are small, bisexual, with panicles with long stalks, slightly shorter than leaves, and covered with yellow soft hairs; the flowers are white; the calyx is cup-shaped, 5-toothed, and the teeth are ovate-triangular; the petals are 5, oblong, 3.5-4mm long; the stamen tube is slightly shorter than the petals, 10-parted, the lobes are double-lobed almost to the base, and the inner surface of the tube has beards near the mouth; the ovary is pubescent, and the stigma is conical and 2-lobed. The capsule is nearly spherical, 8-12mm in diameter, covered with yellow hairs and very dense horizontal lines. The seeds are nearly spherical, dark purple or black, and shiny. Flowering period is from April to September.
