The stem is erect, 50-100cm high, obtusely quadrangular, with four deep grooves, densely covered with white appressed sparse soft hairs along the edges, the petiole in the middle of the stem is up to 1.7cm long, concave on the abdomen and convex on the back, covered with white appressed soft hairs; the leaf blade is hard and papery, ovate or oblong, 2-5cm long, 1-3cm wide, the one in the middle of the stem is the largest, and the ones at both ends of the stem gradually become smaller, with short acuminate to long acuminate at the apex, nearly rounded or truncate and decurrent at the margin, and scattered with white small sparse soft hairs on the upper side and only along the veins on the lower side.
