[Original form] Large woody vine with large leaves. When the stems and branches are broken, there is white latex, and when the fresh leaves are broken, they are connected by gum threads; the stems have irregular longitudinal grooves, and the young branches are covered with purple-red hairs. The leaves are papery to thinly leathery, broadly ovate or ovate, 9-25cm long, 6-15cm wide, with short acuminate or acute apex, nearly truncate or slightly cordate base, dark green and shiny above, light green below, with wavy wrinkles on the upper side when dry, and often 5 palmate veins. The racemes are clustered on old stems or leafless old branches, often drooping, 7-35cm long, and covered with purple-red hairs; the flowers are unisexual and dioecious, white to light green; the male flowers have 9 sepals, the outer ones are tiny, the inner ones are 3-5mm long; the petals are 6, boat-shaped; the stamens are 6, and the filaments are thick. 【Chemical composition】 Bigleaf vine contains hexacosanoic acid, palmitic acid, tridocanyl-α-hydroxytriacont-6-encate, β-sitosterol, daucosterol and magnoflorine. The stem contains 1-methoxy-3-hydroxy-6-methylanthraquinone, vanillic acid, syringic acid, β-sitosterol and tetrahydrocolumbamine.

[Identification] Physical and chemical identification Take 2g of crude powder of this product, reflux it with ethanol for 1 hour, concentrate the ethanol solution to a paste, add 2% hydrochloric acid to dissolve it, and filter it.
