[Clinical Application] Used for inducing labor of dead fetus: Take 1 section of fresh Powderyngii ulmoides (about 4-5 sections away from the root), about 8-10 cm long and 1-1.5 cm in diameter, peel off the green skin, make one end blunt and round, tie a silk thread on the other end, sterilize under high pressure, and use within 12 hours. After routine disinfection of the vagina and cervix, slowly insert the blunt end into the cervix, taking care not to touch the vaginal wall. Leave 1.5 to 2 cm of the external cervical opening, with the thread end hanging in the vagina. Then plug the vagina and posterior fornix with sterilized gauze to prevent slipping. Generally, the dressing is changed once every 24 to 48 hours until the dead fetus is expelled. A total of 37 cases were observed, and 36 dead fetuses were delivered naturally after medication, and the placenta was delivered subsequently. The other case was manually removed. The fastest time for dead fetus delivery is 3 hours and the slowest is 168 hours, but most cases are within 12 to 48 hours. The placenta was delivered within 30 minutes after the dead fetus was delivered. No adverse side effects were found, no chills or fever, and no heavy bleeding after delivery.
