[Source] It is the whole herb of the Boraginaceae plant. Harvested in summer and sun-dried.

[Original form] Perennial herb, up to 80 cm tall. The roots are thin, slightly purple-red, and have several stems. The stem is erect, the branches are spreading, and the whole plant is densely covered with spreading white hairs. Leaves are alternate, sessile, oblong-lanceolate or even broadly linear, 2 to 3.5 cm long, 3 to 4 mm wide, and obtuse at the apex. The raceme grows at the top of the stem, is relatively long, and has bracts; there are 5 sepals, lanceolate-linear, and fused at the base; the corolla is light reddish purple or bluish purple, hairy on the outside, the tube is slender, about 7 mm long, and the lobes are short and blunt, oval, and slightly open. The nutlets are ovate-triangular, pointed at the tip, about 2 mm long, with a short stalk, and the surface has warty micro-protrusions of varying sizes. Flowering period is from April to June.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in fixed sandy land, hillsides and sandy land in grassland and desert areas. Distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and other places.
