[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of the semicircular gypsum of the Drynariaceae family.

【Original morphology】Plant height 12-40cm. The rhizome is horizontal, about 1 cm thick, slightly flattened on both sides, densely covered with light brown fluffy linear lanceolate scales, with an oval base, reddish brown, and shield-shaped. Leaves are distal; petiole 12-14cm long, brown; leaf blade leathery, smooth, broadly ovate-triangular, 18-25cm long, 14-18cm wide, acuminate, base nearly rounded, three times pinnately lobed; pinnae 10-15 pairs, base pair largest, 10-12cm long, about 4cm wide, triangular-lanceolate, apex short and acuminate, base almost equally wide, bipinnate or bipinnately lobed, one time pinnules 10-12 pairs, one on the upper side of the base parallel to the rachis, the lower side oblique, oblong-lanceolate, acute, base asymmetrically cuneate, pinnate or pinnately lobed close to the rachis; the upper side of the base of the last lobe is larger, nearly triangular, with a sharp and slightly upward curved apex, entire or upper edge with an angular shallow fissure; pinnae gradually shorten upwards, lanceolate, twice shallowly pinnately lobed; the last cleft surface is nearly triangular, entire; veins are not obvious. The sori are borne on the upper edge of the terminal lobe, 1-2 in number; the sori cover is semicircular, wider than high, borne on a broad base, separated on both sides, and brown.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: epiphytic on tree trunks in the forest at 1400-1500m.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dampness; disperse blood stasis and dredge meridians. Mainly used for rheumatic pain; cold and fever; acute tonsillitis, tetanus; traumatic injury; fracture; nephritis edema

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash fresh product for application.
