Planting conditions

The areas where honeysuckle grows in Pingyi County are all hilly and mountainous areas with obvious small basin regional characteristics. The land is barren, and the soil types are mainly brown soil, brown soil, and mortar black soil. The soil is mostly acidic rock. Affected by the terrain, the regional microclimate characteristics are significant. The main medicinal ingredients of honeysuckle are chlorogenic acid and honeysuckle volatile oil. The above geographical conditions are conducive to the formation and accumulation of chlorogenic acid in honeysuckle, and are beneficial to improving the quality of honeysuckle. Therefore, Pingyi honeysuckle has extremely high medicinal and economic value. According to experts, the multi-element and high-chlorogenic acid content of honeysuckle benefits from the soil, water quality and year-round climatic conditions, and is related to the latitude of the origin and the quality of the seedlings. This is also the main reason why honeysuckle has become the "main flower and economic flower" of the county.

Quality characteristics

Pingyi honeysuckle has large buds, pure color, fragrant taste, and high chlorogenic acid content. According to the research institute, the content of volatile oil in Pingyi honeysuckle is 1.8‰, while the content of similar products from other places is only 0.2-0.4‰. The chlorogenic acid content of honeysuckle reaches 5.87% (the national standard content is 1.5%), which is unique in China and nearly 50 times the content of other natural populations. The honeysuckle produced in this county is rich in 32 elements, while the honeysuckle produced outside the county contains only two.

Production

The cultivation of honeysuckle in Pingyi has a long history. According to the "Feixian Chronicles: Harvesting Honeysuckle in Pingyi" compiled in 1896 (the 22nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty [6]), "The flowers are yellow and white, hence the name honeysuckle. In the early Jiaqing period, merchants and travelers went to other places to sell them and made huge profits. Within a few years, the flowers were planted in many places along the mountains and rivers." Before the 1980s, farmers in Pingyi County only planted a few clumps of honeysuckle around their homes for use as tea. Later, driven by the market and the fact that honeysuckle is resistant to waterlogging and drought, it can grow in saline-alkali land, fertile farmland, thin land on mountain ridges, roadside embankments, river banks, in front of and behind houses, and between fruit trees. It not only brings in huge extra economic income, but also conserves water and soil and greens the environment. Honeysuckle has become more and more popular among farmers, and the honeysuckle industry has gradually developed into a characteristic industry. In 2010, the production of dried flowers reached 3.5 million kilograms.

The above is an introduction to the knowledge about Pingyi honeysuckle. I believe that after reading it, you will have a better understanding of Pingyi honeysuckle. We use the function of honeysuckle in our daily life to help the body clear away heat and detoxify, so as to relieve the inflammation of the body.
