The flowers are fragrant, white, cup-shaped, 15-20cm in diameter, and shaped like a lotus when open; the pedicels are strong and hairy; the perianth is 9-12, obovate, thick and fleshy; the stamens are numerous, about 2cm long, the filaments are flat, purple, the anthers are inward, and the connectives extend into short points; the pistil group is elliptical, densely covered with long hairs, the carpels are ovate, 1-1.5cm long, and the style is curled. The aggregate fruit is cylindrical, oblong or ovate, densely covered with brown or grayish yellow hairs, and has a long beak at the tip.
