The raceme is drooping; the bracts are small, linear-lanceolate; the calyx is broadly bell-shaped, densely covered with grayish-white soft hairs and sparsely prickly hairs. The upper lobes are extremely broad, and the lower middle lobe is linear-lanceolate; the corolla is dark purple or white, the keel petal is about 4 cm long, the wing petals are slightly shorter, and the standard petal is about 2 cm long. The pods are 8 to 10 cm long and about 2 cm wide. They are black when mature, with sparse hairs and 1 to 2 raised longitudinal ridges. There are 6 to 8 seeds, which are grayish white. Flowering period is April. The fruiting period is from October to November.
