【Original form】Deciduous shrub or tree. Young branches and leaf backs are usually sparsely covered with white hairs. The leaves are papery, ovate-elliptic or obovate-elliptic, 3-9 cm long, 2-3.5 cm wide, with pointed or short acuminate apex, base usually broadly cuneate, margin with incurved sharp serrations; petiole about 4-5 mm long. Flowers white, slightly fragrant, in terminal or axillary panicles. There is no bract outside the calyx; there are 5 sepals with eyelashes; the petals are oblong-elliptical, about 5 mm long; there are about 25 stamens, of varying lengths, some slightly shorter than the petals or slightly longer; the style is about the same length as the stamens, and the stigma is not divided. The drupe is obliquely ovoid-spherical, blue-black, about 6 mm long, with 5 persistent calyx teeth at the top. Flowering period is May. The fruit heat period is July.
