Simple leaves are alternate; petiolate or sessile; leaf blades are lanceolate, 1-3 (-9) cm long, 0.2-1.5 (-3) cm wide, acuminate at apex, narrowly cuneate at base, with 11-17 pairs of lateral veins, entire. The herb is axillary; there are 4 sepals, lanceolate, 3-veined; there are 4 petals, yellow, oblong, about 2.5mm long, shorter than the sepals; there are 8 stamens; the ovary is inferior, the style is short, and the stigma is flat spherical. Capsule green or lavender, 1.2--2cm long, 1-2mm in diameter; many seeds. Flowering period: summer and autumn.
