Does Cordyceps sinensis need to be refrigerated?

We can find many health products in our daily life, among which Cordyceps sinensis is a type of traditional Chinese medicine. No matter how it is used, it can play a very important role in the body. After buying Cordyceps sinensis, you should pay attention to the storage method, because it is a substance that is more easily interfered by other substances. So we should avoid situations like humidity. Does Cordyceps need to be refrigerated?

How to store Cordyceps sinensis There are several ways to store Cordyceps sinensis:

1. Store in refrigerator

If there is a small amount of Cordyceps sinensis in the family and it will be consumed in the near future, this Cordyceps sinensis can be stored directly in the refrigerator. Low temperature can delay the loss of Cordyceps ingredients and prevent Cordyceps from mildewing and infestation. Note: Cordyceps should only be stored in the fresh-keeping layer in the refrigerator and should not be frozen.

2. Keep dry

If the amount of Cordyceps sinensis is relatively large and you cannot finish it in the near future, you will need to store it for more than a year. For this kind of long-term storage, you can choose dry storage. The method of dry storage is: 1. Choose a clean, dry and sealable container, put some solid desiccant in it, put the Cordyceps in and seal it. Can be stored for more than one year. 2. Choose a box with a lid (paper or plastic is fine), put the cordyceps, dried tangerine peel and peppercorns in the box, cover it with the lid, and it can be stored for several months.

3. Vacuum storage

If you are running a business selling Cordyceps sinensis and other perishable dried Chinese herbs, you will receive a large amount of dried Cordyceps sinensis and other Chinese herbs during the purchasing period. You can choose to preserve them in a vacuum. After putting the medicine in, extract the air from it to make the container reach a near-vacuum state. This method can preserve Cordyceps for 2 to 5 years without spoiling.

4. Precautions for storing Cordyceps:

1. Cordyceps is not suitable for long-term storage. Even if it is stored in a vacuum, its medicinal properties will be lost over time. Cordyceps is best eaten fresh. 2. Cordyceps needs to be checked regularly during the non-vacuum storage process to check whether it is damp, moldy, etc., and it also needs to be exposed to the sun regularly.

For consumers who have purchased bulk Cordyceps, the most practical storage method is to spread the bulk Cordyceps on the ground in sufficient sunlight to dry when the sun is good. Afterwards, gently pick up the Cordyceps as it is easy to break at this time. Put it in a plastic film bag, put an average of about 200 grams of Sichuan pepper in a cloth bag for every kilogram of Cordyceps at the bottom, seal it, and place it in a cool and dry place. In areas with dry climate, check it every 30 days or so and dry it in sufficient sunshine; in areas with humid climate, check it every 20 days or so and dry it in sufficient sunshine.
