[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Lycopodiella serrata, a plant of the Lycopodiaceae family.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 10-20cm high. Rhizome creeping, nearly yellow. The branches above ground are flat and oblique. Many times dichotomously branched. The leaves are arranged in 4 rows, attached to the branches, alternate and opposite, slightly fleshy, with sharp tips, slightly narrow bases, entire margins, ovate-lanceolate leaves on both sides, curled toward the ventral side, with dorsal leaves slightly wider and ventral leaves narrower. The sporangium spike grows at the top of the branches, is cylindrical and sessile; the sporangium leaves are broadly ovate, with a long and gradually pointed tip and slightly serrated edges. The sporangium grows in the axil of the sporophylls and is kidney-shaped; the spores are tetrahedral spherical.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in alpine grasslands and tundra areas at an altitude of 2000-2200m.

[Chemical composition] Contains biological alkaloids such as lycopodine, clavolonine, lycoclavine, and des-N-methyl-α-obscurine.
